MANCHESTER BORN REFEREE, TAYLOR TO HANDLE MANCHESTER DERBY

One of the elite match officials in the Premier league will be handling the neighbourhood clash

between the Manchesters.

Anthony Taylor, born in  Wythenshawe, Manchester 40 years ago, will be the refree in charge of the

Manchester Derby. This will mark the very first time Taylor will be featuring in Manchester Derby

but not the first time he officated a match concerning both side in other competitions.

Taylor recently officiated a match against Manchester United and Newcastle United. The match at

first was in favor of Newcastle but later took a U-turn as the Red Devils came from 2 goals down to

win in a 3-2 outcome.

This match arose alot of suspense as former referee, Mark Clattenburg questioned Taylor's decision

of not awarding a penalty when a delibrate handball offence was committed by Red Devils, full

back, Ashley Young in the 40th minutes of the game.

Taylor selected Altrincham as the club he supports and has the biggest conflict of interest in.

The 40 year old has gone 11 matches without showing a red card and 28 matches with only one card

shown.
