Neymar Jnr has revealed that his ability to play today was inspired by the works of Lionel Messi. He also revealed that within the little period he spent in Barca that he really learnt a lot from his icon, Lionel Messi.
The Brazilian spoke to The Players' Tribune alongside NBA star, Steph Curry.
Neymar won two laliga trophies with his icon while in Barcelona and also a Champions league trophy too within his four years of stay at Camp Nou before moving to France to join Paris Saint German on a world record transfer deal.
While he was at Barcelona, he had several encounter with Cristiano Ronaldo and has described him as a monster in the pitch.
"Facing Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo - and I played with Messi, who is for me, one of the greatest footballer of all time and also my idol" Neymar said.
"With Messi, I learned everyday, whether during our practice, or playing with him or just watching him play. And that made me stronger and it increased my capacity on the field because I kept learning a lot from him.
"As for Ronaldo, he is a monster, facing him is a pleasure and an honor but we have to be more prepared. He is one of the greatest footballers so you get smarter , you get alert, but at the same time you learn, too. So they are two of the big guys that I can relate to, because I want to learn, I want more, I want to win, I want more trophies, score more goals....so I keep learning from them everyday" Neymar added.
