Wife to the former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyatantakyi has recently in
an interview with Metro TV disclosed that a group of people approached them demanding them to
pay a whooping sum of $150,000 for a video to be deleted, that was before the release of the
investigation film of the GFA.
Christine-Marie Nyantakyi confirmed that her husband paid the sum in order to have the deleted the
present misery they are facing.
Although he didn't pay all but paid the sum of $100,000 as he could only afford that.
She went ahead to disclose that the money was later returned but not once rather at first $40,000 and
later $60,000. She said this happened after the group came back to ask for the balance, saying that
the person that had sent sent them says the money need to be completed. Nyantankyi failed to
complete the money and it was refunded, claims the wife.
“They proposed $150,000, [but] my husband couldn’t afford it, so he gave out $100,000 and they
came back to him and said the person says you need to add $50,000, and he said well, I don’t have it;
that’s all that I have…They brought $40,000 first; and then later on, they brought $60,000 dollars,”
she said.
......she continued “I have not gathered the courage to watch the full video, because the small that I
watched, I knew that the way he is talking; that is not my husband; something might have gone
wrong,” she revealed.
The video in question was aired on the June 5th and later aired on BBC few days later. The
documentary putted a serious hold on the activites of football community.
The content of the documentary displayed how Marie's husband engaged in a bribery activity which
is completely against the rules and regulations given to him the day he assumed office and also has
led to his career ban.
On the other hand, the Pioneer of NUMBER 12, Anas has countered the allegation.
He disclosed that neither him nor his Tiger team got involved in such disgraceful act.
