CHELSEA EYES PIATEK AS ICARDI ALTERNATIVE

Krzysztof Piatek has emerged as a Chelsea target going into the winter window, according to a report from the DAILY MAIL.

The Blues have recently been linked with a move for Inter forward Mauro Icardi as they look to strengthen their Premier League title challenge under Maurizio Sarri, but believe he may cost too much money.

The Argentine has a release clause of £97.5 million ($125m) but it is not active until the summer window, while the San Siro club are working on agreeing a new deal.

As such, Chelsea have turned their attention to Genoa's Piatek, who is currently Serie A's top scorer with nine goals.
